Reado is a mobile reading app that helps users discover books through personalised recommendations and save them to a personal library. I analysed the key new-user journey, identified usability issues on the main discovery screen, and redesigned the experience to make finding and saving relevant books clearer and more engaging.

Challenge
The main challenge was to improve the journey from opening the app to adding the first book to the library. The original discovery screen was overloaded with competing content blocks, repeated cards, and insufficient spacing. Recommendations lacked a clear visual focus, making it harder for new users to understand where to begin and reducing the likelihood of meaningful engagement.
Solution
I analysed the target user, mapped the key onboarding-to-library flow, and restructured the discovery experience around clearer recommendations. The redesigned screen introduces stronger hierarchy, personalised book suggestions, a featured Book of the Day, visible recommendation progress, genre filters, and clearer calls to action. This makes it easier to discover relevant books, understand the value of saving them, and build a personal library.
